Daytripper is a Phoenix, AZ–based doom metal band known for theatrical live performances and a steadily growing regional draw. Their debut album, Book I: The Trip and follow-up EP The Alchemist, received critical acclaim, including a #27 ranking (March 2024) and #21 (October 2025), on the Doom Charts,  establishing the band as a rising presence in the doom metal underground. 

 

The latest release, The Alchemist, expands Daytripper’s doom palette while deepening the mythology introduced in Book I. The EP blends psychedelic locrian modes, hypnotic synthesizers, and nod-inducing sludge.

 

The past year marked a pivotal chapter for Daytripper with the addition of The Seer and Warrior Sage. The Seer’s ethereal vocals and layered synthesizers, paired with the Warrior Sage’s pummeling grooves, define a new era for the band. This lineup carried Daytripper’s ritualistic live performances beyond the Sonoran Desert on two tours: a Spring run across the Southwest supporting Denver’s Green Druid, followed by a Summer appearance at the final year of Maryland Doom Fest. In 2026, Daytripper will embark on a West Coast tour in support of The Alchemist, bringing the new release to audiences up and down the coast.

 

In a short span, Daytripper has shared the stage with respected acts such as Conan, REZN, and Castle Rat, and continues to build momentum through consistent touring. The band has appeared at Darren Death Fest and the aforementioned Maryland Doom Fest, and has received coverage from Stoned Hive, Outlaws of the Sun, and Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour.
